We are an online A-Z of music and the people who forge it in our city. Our aim is to SHOUT about the beats coming out of the city to its own population and to the world. Sheffield is music. And we want to support it, spread it, nurture it and watch it grow.
MiS was primarily about electronic music when it began 3 years ago. Since then it has grown to encompass the whole spectrum of music from this industrious, inventive city. Don’t worry, we still have a firm love of all things electronic and we will keep it that way.
We host artists and band profiles online, giving you a who’s who of Sheffield talent, big and small. Our passion is to find and develop new talent, giving you the heads up as to who is going to be the next big thing out of the city… before your mates find out!:)
MiS is your Sheffield music industry insider, proving music talk only the walls in Sheffield have heard. Our network boasts over 20 years of experience working within the music industry of Shefftown. Our content is primarily created BY musicians,a nd by people with detailed knowledge and love of the many different facets which make up the music scene here.
We are a recording label, studio, events organization and a news resource. The label, in association with the cream of Sheffield talent provides a FREE music remix album download every year, the latest, 2011’s “Now + Again” contains 44 remixes of Sheffield bands BY Sheffield Electronic producers (Toddla T, Matt Helders from The Arctic Monkeys, Heaven 17, Shake Aletti and Steve Edwards to name but a few). It’s out now, and oh….did we mention its for FREE!
Yes we are a little raw, somewhat distressed and quite rough at the edges.
But, that’s Sheffield. We are a product of our environment, and proud of it.
